Special Program: Tangible Dream
Moving images used to be shadows projected through a material – “film.” Now that film has disappeared and there is nothing between us and the images, what exactly is it we are looking at? Where will moving images liberated from materiality go from here? Are the techniques abandoned in the face of progress no longer of any use? “Special Program: Tangible Dream” focuses on the essential materiality of film as a focal point for imagining the future of moving images, and reexamines the potential film possessed as a medium precisely because it was something that could be touched and felt.
