“Summer passed twice before I realized meticulous care had to be taken.” A single man around forty years of age. He still does not have a stable job. He lives alone and his days are taken up by pulling weeds from around his family home. He waits for the day he will enter the limelight, blossom like a flower, and see his efforts bear fruit. Meanwhile, the weeds go on flourishing with awful vigor. Nursing care, inheritance, employment… Local problems continue to grow without being cut down. Written in capitol letters on the T-shirt he wears when working: “FAMOUS!!”
　

SHINODA Tomohiro

Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1969. Entered the cinema studies club at university. After graduating, made the 8mm films Rolling Film (1993) and HIGURASHI (1994). Studied filmmaking in the United States and made other films, including Closed Days (16mm, 1997).
