HAYASHI Sayaka / digital / color / 6min. / 2017

A silhouette animation in which the characters’ actions, reminiscent of a crime movie, are repeated over and over again: a man and woman on the run appear, a man raises his hand to the muzzle of a gun, flames explode out of the muzzle and the screen goes completely red. The shadows of the characters, indistinct as if cast by candlelight, stimulate our vision and shake our mental landscape; are they vague memories of movies we have seen before, or vestiges of a nightmare submerged deep in our minds?
