Piled up layers of skin. A clump of meat surrounded by skin. The screen on which movies are projected, and the retina on which a field of view is reflected, are also layers of the skin known as “film.” The osmotic pressure of liquid, air, and images that pass in and out of layers of skin.
 

KUROKAWA Hoshu

Born in 1954. Made his debut in 1981 with CELLULOID DESERT. With film and performance at its core, his avant-garde practice sits between visibility and invisibility. Major works include ICONOCLASM NO.1 (1999), DIASPORA SONG (2011) and BODY OF SOUL (2012).
