Installation

A video sculpture that poetically references the relationship between cinema and postwar society. I hope it is a work in which the material dreams and political background projected on the screen can be sensed as the atmosphere of a civil society thrown together like a slapdash barrack.

ITO Ryusuke

Born in Sapporo in 1963. Completed a graduate program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Creates films and video installations on the theme of the materiality of film. His major works include the “Plate” series, in which various formats of film stock are cut up and pasted together, and the “Realistic Virtuality” installation series, in which small models are enlarged through projection.
