“Zorn I (2010-2016)” and “Zorn II (2016-2018)”document the compilation of portraits of John Zorn, that the director Mathieu Amalric traced John for 12 years. The film goes behind scenes of Zorn’s composition with singer Barbara Hunningan and pianist Stephen Gosling tackling transcendent technique on making songs based on the Finnish epic poetry, Kalevala. Zorn’s intricate creating process is filled with painful elaboration as well as latitude.
