What screenings create. What they connect. Sometimes screenings become a platform that gives birth to a new community. The “Islam Film Festival,” that has had great success in introducing films from the Islamic world that are not very well known in Japan,“ Normal Screen,” which has screened experimental films that address the experiences of sexual minorities at cinemas and in collaboration with other organizations, “SpiceFilms,” a group that focuses on the analog medium of 8 mm film and organizes not only screenings but also events such as film developing workshops, and CINEMA Chupki TABATA, Japan’s only inclusive theater located in Tabata, Tokyo, take the stage.
