The Minyo Crusaders, a band based in Fussa, Tokyo, has been growing its fan base around the world by arranging minyo folk songs with afro and latin elements.
The director started to closely follow the band for five years, after being shocked by their unorthodox approach. He also accompanied them on their world tour, which included a stop in Colombia. With interviews with music critics, the film explores the question, “What is folk music?”
