One of the leading artists during the rise of female filmmakers in the 1990s, she studied under SUZUKI Shirouyasu, who fostered many talented artists at Tama Art University. Her works take as their subjects the figure of her grandmother or everyday scenes from her family home, and begin by expanding upon remembered images.
