Ten Skies
Ten, ten-minute shots of the sky. An “extreme film” that can be described as James BENNING’s apogee.
These images of the sky on the outskirts of Los Angeles are a culmination of the style for which BENNING is known: sequences of stationary shots of American scenery on 16mm film. The first Japanese screening of the new digital remaster of this unsurpassably simple and at the same time complex work that is extremely challenging for both those who view it and those who talk about it.
