A monumental work of science fiction art animation that has appealed to many viewers with its original worldview.
A planet that is not Earth. A desperate struggle between the giant Draags and the oppressed human Oms. Based on an original work by science fiction author Stefan WUL, the art design was undertaken over a period of four years by fantastical landscape artist Roland TOPOR. The genius René LALOUX then completed the film, which became the first animated work to win a Special Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1973.
