A program of works by spirited animation creator Réka BUCSI + a showcase of the latest European art animation.
Réka BUCSI is a Hungarian-born animated filmmaker. With her surreal and unique style of animation imbued with the essence of science fiction and magical realism, BUCSI’s works have been nominated for awards at major international festivals including the Berlin International Film Festival and the Ottawa International Animation Festival. This program features four works by this creator of spirited animation that have never been shown in Japan, including works from her early period, along with two works selected from among those screened at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival where she served as a member of the jury.
