The Ann Arbor Film Festival, located in a city of 120,000 people in Michigan, North America, is the oldest experimental film festival in the United States and has been running for over 60 years. A community enthusiastically supports the festival. This discussion considers the outlook for the relationship between film festivals and audiences in the future, based on the festival’s rich history.
