Documentary about a prominent Tajik folk music family that makes full use of steel tambourines and the intergenerational turmoil within the family.
The Alaev family has been a musical family for over 50 years. They have been active in Tajikistan under the influence of Eastern European, Jewish, Romani music, and later relocated to Israel following the collapse of the Soviet Union. The family is led by a father who is unquestionably charismatic and dictatorial. However, as times change, intergenerational conflicts with his daughters, who have their own independent views on life, become apparent. How will their music career continue? This documentary follows the transition of the family.
