music: SECOND CULT

Scrap of the film separated from the main part of the movie by projection accident. You can not project frames which were torn off. However, I extracted the physical damage along with the image from the fragment of accumulated film and reconstructed it into a new movie. This work raises a question as to whether the piece of movie or photograph will decay as garbage or whether it can be a picture expression again.(O.K.)

The cut-off ends of old movie film. The camera scours these fragments. Persistently, not only the parts with an image but also the sound and subtitle parts… As though praising the fact that frames of film remain as physical things, not just data. Today, as film culture nears its end, when will film become debris (remains, fragments)? A great quantity of debris emits beautiful light like gemstones.(Y.S.)
