In my home area of Kumamoto, a bridge called “Aso” collapsed. For people who don’t know this bridge, this incident was probably just “hazy sadness.” But I made this work because I wanted people to notice this “hazy sadness” feeling that tends to be forgotten. (M.D.)
A slightly sad monologue on this red bridge that was loathed as a spot known for suicides. The voice that calmly speaks to us of the sad event of the Kumamoto earthquake that actually occurred and loss to an inexorable power is gentle and quiet. The imagery combining three-dimensional models and drawings in analog and digital media creates a unique view of the world, and through this perspective drifts sadness. (K.H.)
